Ingredients
Β½ gallon fresh apple cider (unfiltered preferred)
2β3 tablespoons Rollicking Buckaroo Pepper Jam (Mild or Medium works beautifully)
2 cinnamon sticks
4 whole cloves
2 star anise (optional)
1 orange, sliced into rounds
1 apple, sliced
1-inch piece fresh ginger, sliced
Optional adult version:
Dark rum, bourbon, or spiced whiskey (1β1Β½ oz per mug)
Instructions
Stovetop
Add apple cider to a large pot over medium heat.
Whisk in the Rollicking Buckaroo Pepper Jam until fully dissolved.
Add cinnamon sticks, cloves, star anise, orange slices, apple slices, and ginger.
Bring just to a gentle simmer β do not boil.
Reduce heat and simmer uncovered for 30β45 minutes, allowing flavors to bloom.
Taste and adjust heat by adding a little more pepper jam if desired.
Strain or serve rustic-style with spices and fruit.
Slow Cooker
Add all ingredients to a slow cooker and stir well.
Heat on LOW for 2β3 hours or HIGH for 1 hour.
Keep warm and serve straight from the crock.
